About This Item This is a unique version of the traditional Shemagh, featuring a non-traditional motif of skulls. The Shemagh, also known as the kafiya, is a traditional Middle Eastern head wrap believed to have originated from the Arabic turban. Its primary purpose is to protect the wearer's head, face, eyes, and neck from the elements such as the sun, wind, dust, and sand. It can also be worn around the neck as a scarf and has recently become a popular fashion accessory.
Adopted by the British Special Air Service (SAS) personnel during World War II, these woven cotton scarves are still popular today among our war fighters in the Middle East and Afghanistan. All of our shemaghs are made of 100% cotton, and the colors are woven in, unlike some cheaper (and inferior) products where the colors are printed on the surface. The dimension of the scarf is approximately 43"x41".
